Jim Porcella in the NewsJim is presently recording at the famed Nola recording studio in NYC with engineer Jim Czak. The recording is a collaboration with good friend and pianist Mike Renzi . Mike is the musical director, pianist, and arranger for this project. Mike, who lives in New York, has put together a world class rhythm section including Bob Cranshaw on bass, Buddy Williams on drums, and Harry Allen on Tenor Sax. Mike Renzi is best known for his work accompanying Mel Torme, Peggy Lee, Ann Hampton Callaway and Jack Jones among others. He is presently the Musical Director for Sesame Street. Some of the selections on the upcoming CD are Dream Dancing, Too Close for Comfort, Here’s to Life, I Wonder Why and In the Wee Small Hours. |
